More Good News

Something else to be ironic about

Nice bedside reading

The first sentence of the document released by the Pentagon on March 18th entitled "The National Defense Strategy of the United States of America" which oddly enough outlines the present US military strategy is "America is a nation at war."
There are so many semantic implications of that very basic statement that my head is still spinning. Just think about that for a second. Here we have a president who has claimed officially that the major combat operation in Iraq has been completed, a population that elected him back in for a second term on the basis of the "war" and the very distant reality on the ground in Iraq, which increasingly reveals itself to be an imperialist grab for the most strategically significant chunk of land on the planet. As time has proceeded, most of the initial claims have fallen along the wayside, but for some reason we as a population just don't seem to care. It's an odd phenomenon to me. Certainly, I'm equally guilty. Of late, the last thing that I want to think about when I get off work is what degree of degeneration we are perpetuating on the planet. Casualty of post-modernism I suppose. He who stands for nothing falls for anything.
The remainder of the document is an infantile and insulting presentation of the nature of security policy. Take for instance the main strategic objectives outlined in the document:
Secure the United States from direct attack.
Secure strategic access and retain global freedom of action.
Strengthen alliances and partnerships.
Establish favorable security conditions.
brilliant! Right? Onward to greener pastures of greater freedom of global action.

I don't have to finish that sentence....

good lawd, it's been awhile... no excuses, just experiences... I got to float last week, which I would recommend to those folks out there that are interested in out of body experiences or reprogramming your own neuro-semantic circuits. The floating experience takes place in a sensory deprivation chamber, which is completely dark and filled with about 10" of highly salinated water. The water is heated to the external temperature of a human body, which after five minutes of getting over the oddity of what one is doing leads to an experience of cognitive liberation from the demands of sensory processing. It was developed by Dr. John Lilly who while known mostly for his experiments talking with dolphins, was pretty friendly with Leary and Co. in there development of a new map for human cognition.
drumming at waterloo... people were standing on tables. Those who did not attend missed something historic.
Psytrance in the countryside in 1 ft. of mud. 5 hours of fungal-fueled violent gesticulations to the musical taste of some Israeli name Pitt of Entropy. I saw the sun come up and then I drove to Houston and attempted to say happy holidays in Polish to a housefull of Polish folks. With no sleep, but still trying to hold onto some vestige of my efforts at learning Polish, I found myself in the kitchen of Aga's mom, saying "bitch" in Polish over and over again, under the mistaken impression that I was saying "sugar." I resigned myself to a combination of English and silent brooding from that point on.

HH is onto something

For as long as space endures
And for as long as living beings remain,
Until then may I too abide
To dispel the misery of the world.
